Migrated my Linux Mint Thunderbird from POP to IMAP. I have almost 30 entries in the msgFilterRules.dat file in the Mail/Local Folders directory. It is possible to run these in the servers INBOX or do I have to copy all new messages to a local INBOX?

msgFilterRules.dat is a local file. It enables Thunderbird to filter messages but only after they have been downloaded.

There is no way that I know to run these filters anywhere but in Thunderbird.

You can copy the file from one account to another. Just be mindful that any discrepancies in folder names in your rules will lead to the affected filters being disabled until you rectify these anomalies.
