PDF's print larger than specified paper size from browser

Printing a letter sized pdf using fit to page and have letter sized print specified. Only happens when using Firefox with web embedded pdf's. I have successfully printed from saved pdf's without changing the settings. Also, have heard of others having this problem.

Usually web pdf printing is problematic and it's best to save the pdf and print so you see what the actual print will look like.

True. And that's what I have been doing except there are some PDF's that I am not able to download. For those I am having to go into Internet Explorer or Chrome to print correctly. Not my ideal solution and makes me think that it's a Firefox quirk.

Hi amariusd, the problem is with PDFs embedded within a web page (in a frame), not with PDF's that take over their own tab?

In both cases, do you use the print button on the PDF viewer's black toolbar:

<center></center>

Next to that is the download button that allows you to open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat or another PDF application on your system for those times when Firefox doesn't show or print the PDF well.

It does happen to both types of PDF. And as answered in the question I know that I can download the PDF but there are some instances where I do not have the ability to download the PDF. And those instances I am having to use Internet Explorer or Chrome. Since they work when I change browsers I do feel it is a Firefox issue.

I'm puzzled how letter prints larger than letter if you don't have scaling in excess of 100% and you print only the PDF.

Even a jumbo-sized PDF should shrink to fit. For example, I created a 17x11 PDF for testing: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/temp/big-page.pdf. Example screen shots attached.

Can you share examples of where it doesn't work for you?

And as answered in the question I know that I can download the PDF but there are some instances where I do not have the ability to download the PDF.

Is that because the site is suppressing the PDF viewer toolbar, or because the button I mentioned doesn't work?
