When I installed Firefox v68 and started the program, it freezed my whole computer completely, even Ctrl-Alt-Delete didn't work. Only a hard reset of the PC (switching off power and restart) revived the system. Sometimes it works for a secodn or two, displaying the start page but then it freezes the system, most times though even clicking the firefox icon to start the program makes the whole system to run aground. The former version of firefox runned fine and solved the problem by reinstalling version 65.

I am having the same problem with several computers. They are all Dell Optiplex 9010s. I found that If you start Task Manager before opening Firefox the first time, go to performance tab, you will see that disk utilization goes to 100% for two minutes. Then everything frees up and Firefox starts working. The only solution I found was to install Windows 10 1903. After installing 1903, Firefox started working right away.

Thanks a lot! This seemed to have solved the problem. I do have a Dell as well, though bit different model (Optiplex 7010 SFF) but it worked indeed after I downloaded the Windows 10 1903 version. Cheers!
