IE has an option of opening an FTP site as a window in file explorer. Then you can drag and drop multiple files to the computer easily. Right now there is no easy way to get multiple files from an FTP site using firefox that I can find. Is it possible? If not, this would be a nice feature to add to a future version.

Yes as Firefox is a web browser and not a file manager like file explorer is nor is Firefox a FTP client. Firefox can only view and download from ftp://

Note the above mentioned long time open source FileZilla FTP client has no relations to the company Mozilla. Some people think that due to zilla in name.

Hello Philip,

Firefox can send any URL with a particular protocol to another application (such as "Mailto"), but I don't know of a way to open one particular link in a different application ......

Maybe you could try to add a favorite place to Windows Explorer for the FTP site and access it that way.

I just found this :

Any good ?

You should be able to open an FTP page in Firefox as a folder list, but you can't do much other than downloading one link at the time.

We normally advice to use an external FTP client like FileZilla.
