You cannot change your account password using Thunderbird. Thunderbird doesn't need to know your account password, it's needed to authenticate you on the server. You can tell Thunderbird to remember the account password though, so that you don't need to type it again and again every time it's needed.

To change the password login to your account via browser and change it on the server.
