Thunderbird has suddenly developed a problem downloading mail, I keep getting asked to enter a new password to access mail.

Thundebird is accessing the mail account ok from my laptop and phone, just desktop has developed the issue. Did it once then worked ok for awhile now constantly.

Found if it re-installed Mozilla would work for awhile then same thing, now does it even with new install.

I have found when I fire up Mozilla when it asks for new mail server password or to retry etc, if I go and and change the server port to 992 it then indicates conection refused, if I then change the server port back to 993 and enter password Mozilla functions correctly for sometime but eventually goes back to asking for a new password?

Hi leigh9, I'm having exactly the same problem. I can no longer access any of my email accounts. It varies from day to day. Yesterday, only 2 accounts constantly asked me for passwords. Both of which "failed", despite being the correct passwords. Today, all 8 accounts. I've checked by going directly to the account webpages... all is fine. Except that Google is coming back with "suspicious activity" on ALL of them. Hardly likely. Is Thunderbird sending out spurious data causing this apparent "suspicious activity"?
