Top sites, highlights not populating after attempting all the suggested fixes. Antivirus disabled and checked, no change. Refreshed Firefox, cleared out cache. I'm out of options. I have only empty tiles on the home screen. Pocket tiles does populate.

Yes, and thank you for looking into it. I've been trying to fix it since update 79. If I would have taken the simple route and read further down in the Support section on Mozilla instead of just browsing, I would have found the answer much sooner. Lesson learned. I have my history, top sites, and highlights available now thanks to the community. Thanks to all the people who tirelessly work to make a better product through community. I'm certainly not a computer geek and I often say that I know enough not to make a mess of things for someone else to fix. Thanks Mozilla community contributors!

OK I had similar issue but I may have found alternative solution to removing places.sqlite database suggested in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1282646

Top sites are synced by clearing the startup cache under about:support page. After Firefox is restarted, all tiles are sync.

Tried this on 2 sync devices with success
