How do I search only specific folders when using the bookmarks searchbar?
Whenever I use the searchbar in the bookmarks manager, it always searches all of my bookmarks, but sometimes I might only want to search for that query within a specific folder. Is there any way to limit a bookmarks search to only a specific folder rather than the entirety of my bookmarks?

The search bar in the sidebar and in the Library can only do a global search in all the bookmarks folders. Note that in current releases you have "Show in Folder" in the right-click context menu to locate a found bookmark in the folder tree.
There are extension you can use to search, but I don't know whether they can limit where to search. Maybe they allow to sort the results by parent location and thus make it possible to inspect only specific folders.

The only way would be to open that specific folder and then do the search.

I've tried that, yet it searches all bookmarks regardless.

Hello I had the same problem
I needed to find ebay tabs in a bookmark folder that contained several hundred tabs
I installed bookmark-search-plus-2
You have to click the red spyglass icon and select "current folder tree" to limit your search https://i.imgur.com/0EKDsBd.png Now it will only search your current folder
Next I selected all the tabs I wanted with shift click, then right click, cut the tabs then I created a new folder within my search folder, and pasted all the tabs there and finally, I opened the native bookmark manager and selected open all bookmarks on that new folder
Definetly very awkward experience overall but at least it works I don't understand why the bookmarks manager doesn't have this feature, I imagine that nobody ever uses the bookmark manager because it is just missing too many features and so, most people only use the bookmark table
BTW you can open the bookmark manager as a tab with chrome://browser/content/places/places.xhtml
And I would like to know, is there a way to open bookmark-search-plus-2 as a full sized tab ?
