I recently did a fresh install of Firefox, and now picture-in-picture videos are defaulting always to the top-left corner of the screen and to not stay always on top; each time I open a video or refresh the page and re-start picture-in-picture it reverts to these defaults and I have to manually change it each time. Previously the default had been always on top and would show up in the location & at the size of my previous usage. I would like to adjust the default settings to make that happen again, but I can't find where to do that. I'd appreciate information on how to do this. Thank you!

I don't use the feature. Evidently you can right-click to change the position. Here are two articles.

Try downloading Firefox from Mozilla, run it from the folder and see if you have the same issue. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

I think that Firefox remembers the PiP settings as long as the videos you play have the same dimensions (width and height). If you play a video with a different dimension then the size and position of the player are reset to the default.

You can try to rename/remove xulstore.json in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to see if that has effect.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
