Okay to copy profile from Win 10 to Win 11 and then back to Win 10?
I'm currently using a Windows 10 desktop computer most of the time, but will need to use a Windows 11 laptop for research travel several times over the next several months.
Will it be possible to copy my profile from Win 10 to the Win 11 computer, use the Win 11 computer for a few weeks, and then copy the profile back to the Win 10 computer?
Or is there something different about Firefox working with Win 10 or Win 11 that would keep this from working for me?
(BTW: Using Sync would probably not be feasible.)
Advice will be much appreciated!

Hi
I cannot think of any reason why this would not work.
I do strongly recommend that both copies are kept at the same version, so that any changes introduced in Firefox in an update on one computer are reflected in updates on the other computer.

Glad to hear Windows 10 and Windows 11 will play nicely together for me when it comes to transferring profiles back and forth!
And thanks for reminding me to be sure I'm using the same version of Firefox on both computers at the time I'm copying profiles.

Thank you for contacting Mozilla Support.
I would still advise to be cautious as it is likely that they have different hardware (drivers) and files like prefs.js stores configuration data and compatibility.ini stores data about and Firefox might insist in creating a new profile.
What is against using Sync as that is much safer, especially that it is likely that Firefox updates during that time if it lasts more than a month ?
