I downloaded the latest firefox version. It downloaded and replaced my previous firefox 78. Then it won't open because doesn't work with my OS El Capitan. Now I'm stuck without my previous firefox and unable to get it downloaded again. So why didn't the download application warn me that my OS wasn't compatible like other updates usually do? And if I do finally succeed in getting re-installed (how?), will I have lost everything - bookmarks, logins, etc.?
