I need to reset my device to factory settings due to unrelated issues with some other apps but would like to keep my Firefox browser/session as intact as possible including the browsing history.

I've used the synchronization function and it seems to let me migrate my history over to Firefox beta without any issues, is it nonetheless relying on some system backup for this restoration or should I simply be able to sync my account with Firefox, remove the app, factory reset, install the app, login, and have all my data re-synced?

Any advice appreciated.

Hi Greg

Firefox Sync is not designed to be used as a backup. Your best bet is to sync to Firefox on another device before you factory reset your Android device.
