Address autofill

more options

I have recently moved to firefox and wanted to set up an address autofill so I didn't have to type something in everytime but I could only find an autofill for credit cards instead. After some digging I believe the issue is that I am using the en-GB version of firefox as I live in the UK while address autofill is only available on the en-US build. If this is the case is there a workaround so that I can have address autofill and if there is not a workaround does anyone have any idea when this feature is likely to be rolled out to the rest of us. Cheers

I don't know the expected timing for this feature to become available for European addresses. You can enable the feature "as is" and see whether it works reasonably well for you, or whether it makes sense to wait on that and use an add-on instead. Here's how:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste addresses.supported and pause while the list is filtered

Firefox should list two preferences: extensions.formautofill.addresses.supported and extensions.formautofill.addresses.supportedCountries

(3) Double-click the extensions.formautofill.addresses.supported preference to display an editing field, and change the value to on then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

(4) I don't know whether it is strictly necessary, but I suggest one more change: double-click the extensions.formautofill.addresses.supportedCountries preference to display an editing field, and add GB (if you are physically located in the UK). If the preference is blank, just list GB, and if it has "US,CA" already, add a comma and then GB alone. Then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change.

Success?
