Hi all,

Just upgraded to Thunderbird 115(from the last Non beta version).

I have multiple email accounts.

When I click to the inbox off one of my gmail accounts it does not display to the last message received. Thunderbird opens to a message about 1/4 up into my inbox.

I have a second gmail account and this behavior does not occur.

I'm sure its a easy fix, I just can't figure it out .

James

Try going over to the Date column and clicking somewhere near the time. There will be a sudden rearrangement of messages. If it is not the way you want it (latest first or earliest first) click again and it will reverse.

Sorry that doesn't fix the problem,

I already have the sort set so the newest(by date/time) appears down the bottom. So when I go and click in another inbox then come back and click on(the problem inbox) I'm not automatically take to the most recent email.

Hope that makes sense

There is a recent bug report on this. Hopefully to be solved in the next couple weeks.

I've seen this reported before. Please check 115.0.1 when it releases later this week.

Unfortunately 115.0.1 does not appear to have resolved the issue....

Hello, i'm facing the same issue where the most recent mails. Also, in the 115.0.1 64-bit, the links in the mails are not clickable to open. It needs to be copied and pasted in the URL bar to open them. Please fix it.

hjauman, Are you still seeing this issue?

Yes sort off.... When I first open Thunderbird, the inbox does not display the last message received.

Once I have clicked on the last message, then go to another inbox/subfolder and then go back, the last message is displayed.

So 50% Fixed?

James

Maddening isn't it? I figured that the devs were just playing a "random number joke" on me by having TB point to some random message from 2022 every time it opens to a new account. There are enough people seeing this to prove that it is a real problem but it looks like an official rollback to 108 would be in order until a fix is found for this and all of the other 115 glitches.

I'm glad I'm not the only one equally annoyed about this bug....

115.2 still has same problem

Sorry there has been no response, but the support system hasn't been notifying us of your responses.

Please post your results of using the newest version 115.3.0 which released yesterday. Thanks.

Using 115.3.0. Unified Folders InBox organised by date to have most recent at bottom of screen. TB (still) not opening at most-recently received message (the way it did before).

No not fixed

Still a problem in 115.4.1 Any chance of a progress report?

more options

I think then I misunderstood the problem. The problem is it doesn't show all the messages until you click in the folder?

more options

For me, the problem is that when I open TB it goes to the earliest messages instead of either the last opened or most recent message. I use the unified folders. This is a change, and not a good one, from the previous TB version. I now have to scroll though all messages to get to the new ones. My preference would be to return to the last location on opening (or whatever the last TB did).

Still not fixed.... Such a annoying bug!

This has been driving me nuts, too!

I'm running 115.4.2

If I 1. hold down the <Shift> while pressing the Thunderbird desktop item and 2. choose reset toolbars and controls and 3. [Exit}

many folders now open at the newest message or at the last message I had displayed.
