115.4.2 (64-bit) does not show a red notification dot for new mail on taskbar icon. Windows 10.0.19045.

Incoming mail settings already checked include "Show icon badge with Count of unread messages," "Show an alert," and "Show a tray icon for unread messages."

Unusual behavior: if I left-click the icon I get a list of suggested actions and recent attachments.

Thanks!

ALSO: All of the other icons on my Task Bar are underlined whenever the program is active, even if minimized. The Thunderbird icon is underlined when the window is open, but not when is is minimized (but not closed).
