No option to pin extension to toolbar

I am having trouble pinning any Extensions to my toolbar. When i click on the Extensions icon (puzzle piece), the Extensions menu immediately pops up. My extension (Bitwarden) is set to "Enabled". When I click on the three horizontal dots, however, the only options are 1) Remove, 2) Report, or 3) Manage. There's no option given to pin the extension.

Because of that, the extension basically never opens, and I am unable to use it. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance.

I am running Firefox 129.0.2 (64-bit) in Windows 11 on a Surface tablet. FWIW, the extension is running fine in Chrome.

Hello TyDraniu. Yes, I have read the instruction manual. When I click the puzzle piece in my toolbar, it does not show me an extensions panel. Clicking the puzzle piece takes me straight to the Add-On Manager. From there, I do see my extension, but it does not give me an option to pin it to the toolbar. Even more strangely, some days I can open the extension, but most days I can't open it at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice with the same results.

You aren't using Private Browsing mode as extensions may not have set to run in PB mode.

Hi cor-el, thank you for your reply. No, I am not using private browsing mode.

Note that not all extension might add an icon to the toolbar. Did you check the screenshots and description on its Add-ons page ?

Hi cor-el, thank you for your reply. This extension (Bitwarden) has been added to my toolbar in my previous computer using the same operating system (Windows). I can also currently pin this extension to my toolbar in Firefox in MacOS and Ubuntu. This extension is pinned to the toolbar in Chrome on the computer that I am currently using. And SOMETIMES the browser extension will even work on Firefox on the computer that I am posting about. So I believe it is a Firefox-specific problem in this case.

I think I have a similar problem. I actually did manage to pin my bitwarden extension to the toolbar Right click anywhere on the toolbar to open up the contextual menu > Choose "Customize Toolbar... > Find the Bitwarden extension icon and right-click on it > make sure that "Pin to Toolbar" is checked.

This should pin the icon to the toolbar, however in my case, although it's marked as pinned, it only actually stays pinned for the current session. If I close the browser, or restart my computer, although "Pin to Toolbar" is still checked, it will not appear.

To make it appear again, I need to just get to the "Customize Toolbar..." step and and close out of it again, and the Bitwarden extension will magically appear. I don't need to go back and set "Pin to Toolbar" as checked because it already is.

It sounds like there is a glitch in drawing the main toolbar. Can you trigger a redraw by resizing the window width? Or is it drawn correctly in a new window (Ctrl+N, or on Mac, Command+N)?
