Issue with adding a certificate in the certificate manager.

more options

I'm trying to add the zscaler certificate (my company uses it) to firefox using the certificate manager. When i select the certificate and click import, nothing happens. The certificate doesn't show up on the list of authorities and there are no error messages.

I'm using firefox in a VM running Ubuntu btw and the certificate I exported from the host machine running Windows.

Hmm, Firefox should have read access to the same drives and folders you do. Can you copy/paste the certificate file to Documents or Downloads and see whether that works any better?

Just to confirm, you exported from the Authorities list and you are importing to the Authorities list?

I don't know why you don't get an error message if Firefox is unable/unwilling to import the certificate. Could you check the Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+J) to see whether any error has been logged there? It can be pretty cluttered, so you could open the console, click the trash can to clear it, then switch to Firefox and try the import, then switch back to the console and check for messages.

In the console, I get an NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED code 0x80520015 after trying to import the certificate.

You can try Firefox from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution to see if it behaves differently.

Moving the file to another folder actually worked. Thanks!

Might be because it was originally inside a folder shared between the host and VM.
