Hi.

iPad is a closed platform that will only let you run applications that Apple think you should be able to run. As a result Firefox is not available for iPad or iPhone. I think you can try Opera Mini, though, which is very good, at least for iPhone.

I'm sorry that the iPad is not meeting your expectations, at least in this point. That's one of the main reasons why so many people prefer not to have Apple mobile products (iPod, iPhone and iPad).

Yes, Mozilla currently has no plans to develop on Apple devices. This is because of their tight restrictions. Mozilla is open source.

More information about Firefox on Mobile platforms can be obtained at the Mozilla Wiki

What can I do to solve this problem???

A good solution is not to buy/use an iPad in the first place. If you already do, you should complain to Apple and threaten to return the product. If the target date to returning your iPad is already past, I think you're stuck... Mozilla will, however, later this summer, realease an application for iPhone and iPad that will let you synchronize its browser with your Firefox, so you can share bookmarks and tabs and all that. But as for using Firefox itself in iPad and iPhone, that's a no go, I'm afraid.

Morbus Don't know if I get your post as help. For myself, I found this thread because I had the same question. I would honestly like to know what Your post is about.

I am here, surely as potential other Millions of iPad newbies, and all of Us are newbies, are on each of our Paths to discover how we are going To use this brand new technology.

I am curious why you would say Not to get an ipad because ipads Don't support firefox, or any other Reasons you would post not to Get an ipad, when clearly most Of us have already done so?

Where else can I find more Helpful advice from you?

I did some research, and atomic seems to be the Most popular iPad browser.

I also saw a lot of people happy with the A1 iPad Browser and the icurtain browser. I didn't look Yet, but opera is supposed to have an iPad Browser also. I thought I would give people Info for choices, but the good news is safari Will be a distant memory for you soon.

This is my last post on safari!!!

morbus.. You are missing out. My iPad is The most fun tech toy ever! It will develop big time both hardware And apps already are abundant.

In comparison to other apple ventures; iPhone, Mac mini, iPod, appletv, and Anything else, iPad is the best by a mile. They also priced it decent. Everyone I have shown this off to were sold on It and vowing to get one for their own.

Hello Heykyleinsf.

I have bought 12 iPads in the last 3 months, thank you very much.

As I was saying, if you want to use Firefox in iPad, and if you already do have an iPad, you should complain to Apple about their software policy and use the threat of returning your iPad as an argument. If the target date to returning your iPad is already past (which is to say, if you can't make the afore mentioned threat), I think you're stuck... Mozilla will, however, later this summer, realease an application for iPhone and iPad that will let you synchronize its browser with your Firefox, so you can share bookmarks and tabs and all that. But as for using Firefox itself in iPad and iPhone, that's a no go, I'm afraid.

That's as helpful as anyone outside Apple can be.

Also for your information, any browser that is released for iPad or iPhone (there are a few) will be obliged to use Safari's JavaScript engine or none at all. Opera Mini, for example, doesn't use a JavaScript engine at all, while all the other browsers for iPhone and iPad that I know of, use Safari's engine.

In any case, I hope you have fun with your new tech toy, as you put it. Personally I prefer more expensive things

Firefox is incompatible with the iPad. However, some apps can have this browser in them. For example, cloud browse, costs $.99 in the app store, is a firefox browser.
