I receive the following update alert:

Update Available

A security and stability update for Firefox is available:

Firefox 3.6.6

It is strongly recommended that you apply this update for Firefox as soon as possible

I click on the UPDATE Firefox box and it goes thru the typical routine, finally telling me the installation will be completed when I restart Firefox. I restart Firefox BUT I do not have 3.6.6 installed. I still have 3.6.4 per "About Mozilla Firefox" AND it still asks me everyday if I want to update.

I did download 3.6.6 directly but the same thing has happened.

I have an iMac and am running OS 10.5.8.

Please help!  ;) Thanks

Try downloading 3.6.6 from www.getfirefox.com and updating manually. Installing Firefox directly from the setup.exe is updating manually.

UPDATE:

Firefox 3.6.8 has more security fixes so I suggest you upgrade or update manually by going to http://www.getfirefox.com to ensure you have the latest security updates.
