Hello Hope.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at getfirefox.com.

As for your issue, I don't think it's a Firefox related problem. You should get someone with experience to fix it locally, if you don't have it.

That said, to scan for malware, install, update and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that not all programs detect the same malware!

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - malwarebytes.org/mbam.php SuperAntispyware - superantispyware.com AdAware - lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware Spybot Search & Destroy - safer-networking.org/en/index.html Windows Defender - microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx Dr. Web Cureit - freedrweb.com/cureit

If these don't find it or can't clear it, please tell me and I'll provide you with further assistance.

I had placed my a few of my favorite places on the bar of my firefox startup page. That way I could quickly click on the site. For some reason my favorite places have disappeared and whenever I start up my firefox they are all gone and it's just the blank official page without my tabs/places (whatever they are properly called) on the top bar section of firefox/mozzilla page. HELP!

Jeanette, that may be caused by a variety of things, some more complex than others. Hopefully it will be easily fixable.

Go into View > Toolbars > Bookmarks toolbar and the Bookmarks toolbar should appear with your bookmarks.

If that's not it, see this to set your home page as you want.

If that's not it, can you please tell me what you did or what happened before this problem appeared?
