Since about a week ago Firefox has been REALLY slow to load pages. I have disabled all add-ons and tried all solutions found on the help pages which seem relevant, but no change. I downloaded the latest version 3.6.8, again no improvement.

This has happened on several different wifi networks and is the same on all. Safari is fast so it would seem to be a FF problem.

Any ideas?

I have also tried to disable several plug-ins and that does not seem to help.

I run Lucid Lynx, and all my add-ons are disabled, I have the same problem and use Chrome to connect to the internet as Firefox can't connect or cant load the pages I try to reach. Chrome is blazing fast on the system so I know it is Firefox and not my connection. been this way for almost a month now on all three of my computers.
