How do I turn off zoom in/out feature? Can I lock it?

I keep accidentally zooming in or out, as I move my finger around the touch-pad to move the mouse. (I'm not holding control or anything, just trying to move the cursor. I don't want to zoom in/out.)

I just want to turn off this feature, since it causing me nothing but grief.

I was able to search and find out "ctrl+0" restores it back to the original/default zoom setting, but I would like to just be able to turn the zoom feature off.
