I have lost the domain guessing "com" feature and don't know why. I reset it through about: config. Browser.fixup.alternate.suffix set to "true". Then it works fine until I close the brower. The setting is not saved, but returns to "false". There doesn't seem to be any way to save the setting. What's causing it to revert and how can I make the change permanent?

I tried all of those approaches, but it did not help. I've determined that it is the Google toolbar that is causing this. When I disable the toolbar, the preferences are saved. The toolbar somehow overrides the preferences. I never had this problem before; have used the toolbar for a long time, but updated it recently. Do you know of a setting in Google that causes this?
