Whenever I download a file, a disk cache copy is created. I do not want that to happen. What is the point of that if Firefox is using a .part file already? It just wastes space, which is limited on my ramdisk (custom location of cache).

Do you mean that you don't want to keep download history?

No, I mean the cached file of the download.

If you monitor your download and cache folder, you'll notice that the .part file is identical (in size and hash) to one of the cached files, except with different names. Once the download finishes, the .part file gets deleted, but the cached file stays there, and is identical to your downloaded file.
