My opening page offered Beta4 as a free download. I did this (i have a Mac) and then it instructed me to drag the Firefox icon into my "applications" folder. When I did this it said that I already had Firefox there did I want to replace existing one. I hit "replace " and then it said that I could not do that because something in Firefox was open. Sure it was as I run my computer using Firefox! Any clues

You will need to exit Firefox 3.6 to install Firefox 4. I suggest downloading the Firefox installer dmg to the desktop then exiting Firefox 3.6 (Firefox > quit in the top menu). Double click on the Firefox 4 installer then you should be able to upgrade Firefox.

Or wait till Tuesday afternoon Pacific time at which point help > check for updates should prompt you to upgrade Firefox 3.6 to Firefox 4.
