I posted this question once but it didn't show up. I'd like to change the title but I'm too stupid. Here's more information: Installed 4.0. Twice. ( went back to 3.6 between tries ) 4.0 can't connect to the www. 3.6 works always. All the time I'm listening to streaming music so my confuser is connected. Am back in 3.6.16, again. 4.0 works in Ubuntu Linux 10.10, on the same hard disk. Error Message: "Offline mode Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web. Uncheck the "Work Offline" menu item, then try again. " I tried disabling IPV6 in about:config and told windoze firewall to allow FF. Couldn't find anything sensible to change in Norton AV Online, their help file is useless, no surprise...

Topic should have been: Offline mode.

User's question: "Offline mode Firefox is currently in offline mode and can't browse the Web. Uncheck the "Work Offline" menu item, then try again. "

To resolve, user mouse to click "File" in the toolbar at top of page. When FILE opens, scroll down to unclick "Offline mode." Then try again whatever you wish to do. This thing occurs sometimes; it did in the older version of Firefox also. But it's amazingly easy to resolve. Good luck getting past that.
