Firefox 4.01 it will only warn of multiple tables on exit (assuming in both cases I have the "Warm me about closing multiple tabs option" checked) when exiting the Windows window, NOT when selecting "File->exit": it happily quits w/o saving the open tabs!

OR in Windows selected the "X" (exit current window) option, Firefox would warn me about multiple open tabs. Firefox now always stores the old session which you can access by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session".


If you always open the last set of tabs, an alternative approach is this:

  1. Click the orange Firefox button, then select options to open the options window
  2. Go to the General panel
  3. Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
