I don't want to upgrade to Firefox 5 because it won't let me use the Google toolbar. How can I stop the constant notifications?
I have Firefox 4.01, retrieved (thankfully) after installing Firefox 5. I noticed upon installation that my Google Toolbar was gone and the notification said Google Toolbar was not compatible with the new version of Firefox. After retrieving the copy of 4.01 from oldversions.com, I started getting bombarded with requests to upgrade to Firefox 5.0. This goes on all day, all night...it never stops. Is there a place I can ask you guys to please stop? I'll upgrade when you make this version compatible with Google's Toolbar.

The toolbar will never be made compatible with Firefox 5, Google have decided to stop development of the Google Toolbar for Firefox. For details on that see http://googletoolbarhelp.blogspot.com/2011/07/update-on-google-toolbar-for-firefox.html and http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/answer.py?answer=1342452&topic=15356
You should consider alternatives to the toolbar as Google posted in the second link.
TonyE -- Maybe you or moderator of this forum should put this as a "sticky" post so users won't ask about Google Toolbar compatibility with Firefox 5 over and over.
The replies don't address the question: "I started getting bombarded with requests to upgrade to Firefox 5.0. This goes on all day, all night...it never stops. Is there a place I can ask you guys to please stop?"
I have the same problem: I also don't want to upgrade to 5.0 (4.0 messed me up enough and I finally got that straightened out). How do I stop those annoying requests? It should have a "No" option.
Please email replies to dennis@someonewilder.com. Thanks.
Like dennisgw, I'm still waiting for an answer to my question, how can I get Firefox 5.0 to stop bombarding me with reminders for an upgrade, which I do NOT want??
Thanks!
that's one of the many joys with Firefox Ive been having it where every time i update it it comes out with a brand new update again I'm about to call it quits on Firefox because of it
