How can I stop Firefox 5 from redirecting to other language sites when I am abroad?

I often work overseas but connect to webmail etc. through an EU network (France/Italy usually). If I try to go to English-sepaking websites I am often sent to the French or Italian, sometimes Swiss versions. This happens even if I type in the specific website I want to go to, a recent one was www.origin.com, I was redirected to the French site no matter what I tried. How can I stop the redirecting and 'force' Firefox 5 to go to the sites I type in rather than deciding what is best for me?

As far as origin.com is concerned, you can click the flag at the top and choose your desired language on the EA site (bottom right) it takes you to, but many sites prevent you from choosing your own language unfortunately.

You can try using a proxy such as http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html which is located in the Seychelles and which usually loads the English version if there's one available.
