I've recently updated from OS X 10.2.8 to 10.4.11 so I can update Firefox from 1.0.6, but cannot find a link to upgrade from 1.0.6 to 3.6.

I was finally able to update my OS (from OS X 10.2.8 to 10.4.11), which was preventing me from updating my browsers. I know I can not update to Firefox 4, but would be happy with 3.6. I found a place to update to 3.6 from 3.0 or 3.5, but can't find anything to get me from 1.0.6 to 3.o or 3.6 (or anything else for that matter). I really have liked Firefox, but it is not working on more and more websites. Any way I can get updated to 3.6 would be appreciated.

For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 you can look at:

I would not use update to go from 1.0.6 to 3.6.*. Download the full version and install it manually.

Firefox 1.0.* did not really have a software updater as the early concept of it did not even really come about until Firefox 1.5 as far as releases goes.

Just download the 3.6.20 for Mac and install it. You may want to trash the old 1.0.6.
