I had just asked another question and when I signed out it took me to https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/home

At the top of that page are 2 boxes that say the following: 1)Warning: Firefox 3.6 will only be maintained with security and stability updates for a short period of time. Please update to the latest version of Firefox.

2)Warning: You're using an insecure version of Firefox. To keep your computer and personal information safe, please update to the latest version of Firefox.

I checked firefox and my control panel. I have 6.0.2 . What's wrong?

I get this if I happen to change the version of Firefox to Firefox 3.5-3.6 or 4.0 or 5.0 under the Help with: on right of https://support.mozilla.com

If you open the Help > Troubleshooting Information page (also known as about:support), you can see how your browser identifies itself to web sites. This is the User Agent line. For Windows XP, you would expect something like this:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:6.0.2) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0.2

Does yours list a 3.6.x version?

Edit: If you want to see how it looks from the perspective of a website, you can test with this page on my site:

Problem got solved. Instead of searching firefox help through google, I went to help in firefox and then clicked on firefox help. The message came up at first but then when the page finished loading, it went away.
