Rename the file and change the file extension to .jpg if it is a JPG image.

Tried this and then tried opening it in various viewers and media players---no joy

Did you make sure by checking the Properties via the right-click context menu that the file didn't end up with a name like image.jpg.html because Windows was hiding the file extension and kept the original .html file extension?

I've checked the file extension as suggested and it is .jpg. Perhaps there is something wrong with the file. I will try to get another sent to me

Do you see HTML content like a possible error message in the file if you open it in a text editor?

I cannot see any reference to errors in notepad, but I do see references to Facebook. Perhaps it can only be viewed with Facebooks software/permission
