I am using Firefox 7.0.1 on a samsung R710 laptop, when a menu dropdown or right click pops up it suddenly vanishes or flickers away.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
