How could I install the "display your bookmarks asterisk icon" on the bookmarks toolbar?

I have a bookmarks tool bar in which i have installed most of my folders not all of them fit cause there is not enough space in the bar At the far right of the toolbar I remember having in a previous FF version a black icon looking like a black asterisk which when cursor hovered over it it showed "Display your bookmarks" which if clicked on would produce a drop down menu with the all the of the bookmarks not included inside the existing folders> How do i get that icon to show once again.

Thank you

You only see that Bookmarks Menu button on the Bookmarks Toolbar if the menu bar is hidden.
If the Bookmarks Toolbar is hidden as well then you see that button on the Navigation Toolbar.

You can also drag the Bookmarks Menu button with a drop marker that you find in the toolbar palette in the Customize window on another toolbar.

Look for a ">>" at the end of the bookmarks toolbar. Click it to see a menu of the bookmarks that did not fit in the current size of the toolbar.

Note: I haven't checked on Windows, but that's what it is on Mac and Linux.

That ">>" symbol is a chevron, not an asterisk.

did not mean the chevron symbol, meant the black symbol that sits left to the word Bookmarks that when you click on it drops down all the bookmarks not in folders already

Oh, you mean the star!

yes finitarry now that you prompted it it looks like a star; my eyes are old and no longer can distinguish small sized images. So now that we are on the same level of mutual understanding , how do I get it back so it shows when i sign into FF?

Did you check out my above post?

That Bookmarks button with a star and a little drop marker is the Bookmarks Menu button that I mentioned above.

That Bookmarks Menu button button is only displayed if the menu bar is hidden because otherwise you can use the Bookmarks menu to access that same list.
If the Bookmarks Toolbar is displayed then the Bookmarks Menu button will appear on the right hand side of that toolbar.
If the Bookmarks Toolbar is hidden (View > Toolbars) then the Bookmarks Menu button is placed on the Navigation Toolbar.

It may also depend on what theme you are using. With Glowygold, the icon looks like a book with a bookmark hanging from it.
