I've been using firefox since long before it was even called firefox or even mozilla. One of the features I've always loved is being able to store my profile on a network drive and access it from any computer. I'm currently installing firefox 7 on a new machine and the old firefox -profilemanager command does nothing. How do I add an additional profile that is located on a mapped network drive?

Also are the new profiles backward compatible with version 3.6.x or do I have to update every machine at once?

  1. Try using just -p or -P
  2. You're looking at possible problems using a Profile in Firefox 7.0.1 and then switching back to Firefox 3.6.x. Most users don't necessarily have a problem going back to the older version once, but backward compatibility isn't guaranteed. And if you do it repeatedly, the chance of having a problem increases each time it is done.

Tried -p earlier and -P just now. Neither does anything.

I'm not looking at going back and forth for very long just a week or 2. Need to back up each machine then update everything.
