I backed up before doing a full reinstall of OS 10.5. Can I restore my Firefox bookmarks from my system backup? What would it be called?

My laptop froze and I had to do a full reinstall and diagnostic check. But we were able to go and backup my desktop and most of the system. Not applications. Can my previous bookmarks still be in some folder in my backed up files?

Thank you for the response but I am on a MAC and the support says quit Firefox then press the cntrl key and copy and paste. Isn't that for a PC not a MAC? Copy and paste what? It doesn't say where to find old file and what it would be called. Thank you again.

Not if you display the instructions for Mac.

You copy and paste a file from the backup to the current default Firefox profile folder.

Did you manage to find the Firefox profile folder in the backup?

If you use the Time Machine then you can also look there for the files.

You usually find the Firefox profile folder here on Mac:

  • /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/
