Why does Firefox 8 create such a small hit spot or active space on my social media buttons at top of this site: http://bit.ly/wWjZxy

In Internet Explorer 9, the social media buttons at the top of my draft site have a full button-sized active area upon which to click.

When you look at the very same site and buttons on Firefox, your mouse is able to click on the buttons only in a small area in the upper left of each button.

How do I get Firefox to make the entire button a hit spot or active area?

Client insists that the buttons' look-and-feel is the same on internet explorer and Firefox....

That is because the DIV .item-page is covering the lower part of the buttons.

A style rule like this will make the buttons clickable:

div.item-page { clear:both; }

Hi cor-el. Thanks - When I view the Page Source, I see the DIV to which you refer. However, I'm still stuck because that line appears to be dynamically generated by Joomla.

I can't figure out what exactly to modify in CSS since that class doesn't appear. (Css can be viewed here.)

I can't modify the index.php because that DIV isn't in it.

So how exactly, or where, do I make this change or add the style rule? Sorry to appear so thick-headed...!

I'm not familiar with Joomla templates, so best may to get some advice elsewhere to see if they know a way to solve this.

A good place to ask advice about web development is at the MozillaZine "Web Development/Standards Evangelism" forum.

The helpers at that forum are more knowledgeable about web development issues.
You need to register at the MozillaZine forum site in order to post at that forum.
