When exiting Firefox I get a message saying you need to close firefox yet I have already exited the application. If I shut down the PC and get back in, Firefox allows me to get back in. If I don't shut down I keep getting the message and cannot get back into Firefox. I have a Dell Inspiron running Vista

Hi,

Please try quitting Firefox via File (Alt + F) > Exit or click the Firefox button on the top left and Exit and wait a few seconds. Some audio/video plugins or add-ons may delay the process by a few seconds more. Also after quitting Firefox, try opening the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), click the Processes tab and right-click plugincontainer.exe and End Task and see if it helps.

I recently experienced the same problem and determined it was my skype add on that was doing this. I disabled the add on and now it works fine.
