You asked, The questions I had were

Does FireFox 9 support............ HP Support Assistant

Does FireFox support............ Band in a Box 2012

Neither will work after installing FireFox 9

Firefox doesn't interfere with your "HP Support Assistant" program (I have it installed on my HP laptop) so if it no longer works you should contact HP support or see this page if you want to reinstall it: http://h18021.www1.hp.com/helpandsupport/hp-support-assistant.html

I don't know anything about "Band in a Box 2012" or if it includes a Firefox add-on. See Re-enable add-ons that were disabled when updating Firefox in case that's the problem. I found the support page for the "Band in a Box 2012" software here: http://www.pgmusic.com/support.htm

Hi enk1-

This forum is run by community volunteers. Which website is the problem? If you are using a web email site and you cannot log in, then you would need to contact the email provider rather than the browser.

No, I was trying to find a way to retrieve my user name so I could log in to ask a couple of questions

As it stands I had to open a new mail account and register.............simply because I could not use the old e-mail address to register again

Hi enk1- Again, I still don't understand where you were trying to log in. However, in regards to your questions:

  • According to the HP site, it should work on Firefox. However, there is no data on whether there is a problem with a particular version. If there is a problem, you should explain what it was. If it worked before and does not now the default go-to fix is to clear your browser cache:
  • Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button.
  • I found no information regarding Band in a Box. If you are having audio issues, you can try clearing the cache & removing cookies. If audio does not play you can read this support article on the subject:

Fix common audio and video issues

Hope that helps.

FireFox 9 does not support.........HP Smart Web Prithing....and does not appear to support.......HP Support Assistant It appears to block the down loades needed to support my HP PhotoSmart Premium 309g printer/scanner/copier.. Clearing histories and caches do not help

Band in a Box 2012 is a music creation program.which now stalls every time I attempt to use it since loading FireFox 9

Hello again

I thought your answers would have enabled a fix. However I cannot get HP Support to download on my machine

It came with my machine and worked fine....UNTIL I switched to FireFox 9..........Now the message I get it........Your computer does not support HP Support Assistant with the current version of FireFox.

Thanks anyway.....I will go back to FireFox 4..............which doesn't support Adobe FlashPlayer 11. But at least with FireFox $ I can load Google Toolbar and have access to a language translation feature.........which you can't get with FireFox 9. The translation feature you can get with FireFox 9..is limited to one paragraps............It is a Google translation tool....but limited to a paragraph at a time..not very helpful when reading a magazine article

Thanks
