Why does Firefox keep saving my last browsed sites as a group, and then open that group when I start up the next time? It will not stop, and I am getting really upset

Every time I close Firefox and have a tab open, it saves the tab as if I had saved it as a group and opens it the next time I start up firefox again.

You can check the startup setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"

Hi BunkerBear,

If you go to Tools > Options > General do you have Firefox set to display your last open pages or to load your home page? You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page.

There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save.

You can also try deleting the session_restore.js file from your profile folder.

Hopefully this helps!
