Hi, I have a weird problem with my firefox. Everytime it starts, it will be alright for 5 seconds, then it will become unresponsive and lagging

- if you hover through the menu toolbars you wont be able to see the indicator arrow - if you type something it is not responsive for a while, but then even when it works it won't show what you typed in unless you minimize the screen and then maximise it again.

What I have tried that didn't fix the problem:

- Removed and disabled all addons and extensions and themes - Uninstall firefox and reinstall (using both windows and revo uninstaller) - Going back to a couple of different versions - Try using a new windows profile - System restore

Interesting fact is if I start firefox in safe mode, it will fix the problem. But if I go back to normal mode, even with all addons, themes, extensions disabled, the problem is still there.

I have no idea what else to do and hopefully someone will be able to help

Thanks!

If this is not happen in Safe-mode because already disable all extensions, try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Troubleshooting extensions and themes

every time when you close firefox go from File > Exit

You can also try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
