Went online to retrieve a download and the entire download list was gone. I did not clear the list where did it go and can I retrieve it?

Maybe you have some cleaning utility that has cleared it. Or did you inadvertantly clear it yourself

Possibly the files are still there but not the listing. Try searching for the files by name or date using Windows XP search. That is easiest of course if you remember what your set or default download location is.

Can I restore to a point several days ago to retrieve download files?

No, a system restore won't work for SQLite database files and Windows XP doesn't keep older copies of files like Vista and later Windows versions may do, so you are out of luck if the download manager and the library do not show the downloaded files.

Did you check if the files are in the default download folder?

  • Tools > Options > General : Downloads
