First you have to rename the .pcv file to .zip file

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zip_%28file_format%29

then you need a software to do that, probably freeware :

http://www.zipgenius.com/

http://www.7-zip.org/ (is open source, one of the best)

thank you

Hello jhack1277, see if after you rename the .pcv file to .zip (".pcv" file is actually a normal ".zip" file) you can unzip it and (if it not corrupted) manually restore the profile.

see for more information : Problems restoring with MozBackup?

Thanks for the help ideato, That didn't seem to help. I have used MozBackup many times before to sync my 2 computers but can't get it to work this time.

I unzipped the file( without restoring the profile) and used the MozBackup again-this time it worked. I'm not sure why, but Thanks very much for your help. Most of the instructions were over my head.
