After update to 24.0 all Firefox icons were reset. Not just the Mozilla Firefox icons, but all shortcut icons, incl frequent sites, tasks, Pinned shortcuts. Shortcuts even inside the browser are set to rectangle with blue banner at the top with red and blue dots inside.

Hi Thomas, that icon doesn't sound familiar, but if it's the default icon, it could indicate some corruption in the Windows icon cache. These articles have steps to repair that, but I've never tried it myself:
