When printing I sometimes use the print preview page to set the size to 125% or 150% etc. But shrink to fit is what I usually want. I will often forget to reset it to shrink to fit! So next time I go to print something it prints way big or way small depending on how I left the setting last time! Is there a way to make shrink to fit the default setting which it always reverts to, even if I used 150% or some other setting recently?

No, Firefox remembers the last used preference and uses that as the new "default". My advice is to use the Print Preview window before printing anything.

To make it easier to Print Preview and to Print, take a look at this extension.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-print-preview-update/
I use that extension to have a contextual menu item for both Print and Print Preview.
