corporate user. I was syncing bookmarks. No longer permitted to do this due to security crackdown. I have removed sync account, but firefox still attempts to contact the mozilla sync servers periodically.

How can I stop these contact attempts?

Thanks

Steve.

I am not 100% sure why this could be happening if you have disabled the sync on the browser settings. Can you please try with setting the services.sync.serverURL to an empty value instead of 'https://auth.services.mozilla.com/'. That might help.

I also saw this old SUMO thread to disable Sync completely, but am not sure if that configuration option is still available or not.

Others in the forum would probably know more.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help.

The FF4 preference does not exist any longer, and scanning through all preference names with "auto" in them I see nothing relevant. Now attempting the URL change.

Nope still trying to contact https://63.245.215.95:443 which is fhr-data-zlb.vips.scl3.mozilla.com

any more clues?

That looks like data for Firefox Health Report.

So try to set other string prefs with an URL to Mozilla servers to an empty value.

I think so. If I go there again now it is as if I never had set sync up, asking to either create an account or supply details of an existing one
