Hi Deepcut,

Maybe it's only an optionin the settings.

  1. Go to Firefox > Settings > Settings
  2. Then go to advanced > tab update > choose "Do not search for updates"

You speak to your Mom !

Firefox ordinarily updates on a Windows computer even if the account is an ordinary account.

It is not my place to try to over-rule your Mom, but maybe it helps to show this article to your Mom

It is also worth pointing out that Firefox will update to Firefox 27 in a couple of weeks time.
