2 days of email's erased themselves as I watched (I was not deleting emails). The emails were not in the trash folder, just gone.

Seemed like the deletion initiated by itself as I was looking at emails, then very rapidly 2 days worth of emails one by one but fast were deleted. Is there a virus or something else that is causing this problem.

Also my Sent emails are not going to the Sent directory. Some make it to the sent dir but most do not. This has been occuring since an update about 3 months ago.

That sounds exactly like how IMAP synchronization works, when you delete the mails in a browser or phone and then Thunderbird synchronizes, they vanish before your eyes because you deleted them elsewhere..
