When I open a tab, I don't have the nine "mini-screens" which are bookmarks. How do I restore this feature?

I accidentally deleted the option of having 9 mini-windows on my blank tabs when I open one. These were bookmarks that made daily browsing a bit more convenient, how do I restore this?

Chosen solution

Your System Details list shows:

  • browser.newtab.url: about:blank

So you have currently set the new tab page to a blank page.

You can reset the browser.newtab.url pref to about:newtab on the about:config page to get the page with the 9 (3x3) tiles.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
