I had been facing this issue since June. Then I uninstalled Mozilla Firefox (the latest version at that time) and installed "Nightly" which continued to have the same issue. Now I hav replaced 'Nightly" with "Mozilla Firefox 33.0" but the issue persists. What can be a way out?

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

Yes the problem persisted even in "Safe Mode with Networking". But then, as you suggested, I disabled an add on for IDM (IDM CC 7.3.11) and the problem was solved. Thanks indeed!
